1)      ELMAN, MISCHA   (1891–1967).   Violinist.   Signed Program.

The Mischa Elman String Quartet played for the 
Berkeley [Ca.] Musical Association, which 
sponsored a series of concerts (five a year). The 
association was organized in 1910 by the American 
baritone William Edwin Chamberlain and lasted 
through at least 1934.  Here is the program for 
the fourth concert of the fourteenth season, 
Wednesday, March 19, 1924, at Harmon Gymnasium on 
the University of California campus.
Haydn, Beethoven and Tschaikowsky 
compositions.  Nice copy.  Signed by Mischa Elman.   $250.00



2)      SOUSA, JOHN PHILIP (1854-1932).  American 
composer and conductor.  Signed program.

Sousa and his Band. Thursday. Octorber 5, 
1911.  Greek Theatre, University of California 
Berkeley.  Single sheet folded to form 4pp, 26.5 
cm.  Old fold.   Litolff, Verdi, Sousa, Hawley, 
Wagner, German, Ghys, Wieniawski, Berlioz pieces 
in the afternoon; Tschaikowsky, Clarke, Sousa, 
Sullivan, Jahnfell, Wieniawski and German 
compositions on the evening program.   Signed by 
John Philip Sousa and dated 1911.   Very good copy.   $350.00
