We are pleased to offer the following for your consideration. As
always, the price quoted is inclusive of Media Mail shipping in the
United States, all other shipping is at actual cost.

*****
Schliemann, Dr. Henry; TIRYNS. THE PREHISTORIC PALACE OF THE KINGS
THE RESULTS OF THE LATEST EXCAVATIONS.; London; John Murray; 1886;
Quarto (8" by 10"); xiv, 385 pages; First Edition

About Very Good, bound in the publisher's gilt embossed decorated blue
cloth, titled and credited to the front board and the spine in gilt,
with black end papers; The tinted woodcut folding frontis is present,
as are the 24 color (chromolithograph) plates and the folding map and
the 4 folding plans. In short, it collates complete. In addition,
there are 178 woodcut illustrations throughout the text. The corners
are bumped and the cloth is beginning to fray to the head and tail of
the spine; this was at some point a library's copy, with evidence of a
shelf label having been removed from the spine, leaving a discreet,
hardly noticeable, ghost. The front free end paper is lacking,
otherwise there are no library markings or stamps. Faint foxing to
several of the plates, generally confined to the margins, but withal,
a very nice copy of this Early Archaeological work. $550
