The plates engraved after original drawings by the author. Tall 8vo. in 
publisher's cloth decoratively stamped in gilt and blind. All edges 
gilt. Extra color-illustrated title page (with chip missing at bottom 
margin). Illustrated with 26 hand-colored botanical plates with tissue 
guards. Dedicated to the poet Wordsworth, and poetry sets the tone for 
this book. One signature loose, but still completely attached. 
Occasional very light to moderate foxing. Plate colors are vivid and 
bright. A charming visual tribute to the "poetry of our own meadows, and 
lanes, and dingles, and 'little running brooks' that I wished to point 
out to my readers." $650
