TRUMAN,  Harry.  MEMOIRS. YEARS OF TRIAL AND  HOPE.  Inscribed  to
Franklin  Delano Roosevelt, Jr.  Garden City: Doubleday & Company, Inc.
1956.  First Edition.  An outstanding Presentation Copy INSCRIBED  and
SIGNED  by the author to the son and namesake of the man he served  as
Vice-President  and  whom he succeeded in office: "With  kind  regards
to/my good friend/Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr./from/Harry Truman/
Independence/July  14, 1956."  While never achieving the renown of his
  father,  Franklin  D.   Roosevelt,  Jr.  was  a   successful
congressman  (1949-1954)  who twice ran for governor of New  York  and
who  was a close friend and early backer of John F. Kennedy.  He later
became a successful businessman.  Light dampstain to the very  bottom
of the cloth not affecting the contents.  Very Good in a Good
dustwrapper.                                                  $7500.00
