UNVEILED; OR THE MYSTERIES AND MISERIES OF AMERICA'S GREAT CITIES, EMBRACING
NEW YORK, WASHINGTON CITY, SAN FRANCISCO, SALT LAKE CITY, AND NEW ORLEANS.
St. Louis: Dan. Linahan & Co., 1882. Salesman's sample, Full cloth, Octavo,
[125 pages?], color frontispiece, black & white engraved plates. Near Fine.
      The book was sold by subscription only and this is a saleman's sample,
and thus does not contain the complete text of the finished work. It
contains numerous illustrations and samples of Buel's colorful descriptions
of the various evils to be found in various cities. A sample of the
alternate leather binding is pasted on front pastedown, and blank order
pages are bound in at rear. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards decorated
in black and gilt, light yellow endpapers. Minor wear to extremities with a
small patch of fraying to cloth along extreme fore edge of lower board.
