hand in full purple linen by Carol Joyce of the Academy Bindery. Four
poems in the original French and English translation printed
letterpress on a textured Arches paper from Epinal, France, by Dan
Keleher of the Wild Carrot Press. Copy #78 of 300 numbered copies
illustrated with five quite dramatic ORIGINAL SILKSCREEN PRINTS by
Lois Mallou Jones and SIGNED by both the African-American artist and
the West African poet who was the first black member of the French
Academy and the first president of Senegal, being re-elected four
times. As a poet, Senghor became the foremost spokesman for Negritude-
-the literary and artistic expression of the black African
experience. Monthly Letter laid in. Fine copy in slipcase of this
