home page within a month. It will contain a variety of fine and unusual itesm,
including interesting Americana titles such as this:
[GRANT, Anne MacVicar]. MEMOIRS OF AN AMERICAN LADY: WITH SKETCHES
OF MANNERS AND SCENERY IN AMERICA, AS THEY EXISTED PREVIOUS TO THE
REVOLUTION. Boston: W. Wells et. al. 1809. First
American Edition, published the previous year in England. Two volumes
bound in one in original cloth-backed boards with a paper spine
label. There was also a one-volume New York edition published later
the same year. Complete with both title pages and endpapers including
the blank leaf between the volumes: [4], 158 [2]; [2], ii, 161 pages.
Howes G-303; Sabin 28296. Memoir of the widow of Colonel Philip
Schuyler, Revolutionary War hero and American statesman, with much on
her life in and the history of Albany and the relationship between
the Albanians and the Mohawk Indians. Light to moderate foxing
throughout. The later one-volume New York edition is readily
available. This true First American Edition, however, is quite scarce
with no copies appearing at auction in at least the last thirty
