1st editions in German. Three works bound together. Small octavo, 
contemporary full vellum titled by hand on spine panel. Folding 
frontispiece portrait, extra folding plate, woodcuts. Three 
works:  THEOLOGIA MYSTICA: oder geheime und verborgne göttliche Lehre von 
den ewigen Unsichtbarlichkeiten...16 + 352 p.,woodcut ill., engr. fldg. 
plate & port. [along with] SOPHIA, das ist, Die holdseelige ewige Jungfrau 
der göttlichen Weisheit, oder, Wunderbahre geistliche Entdeck- und 
Offenbahrungen, so die theure Weisheit einer heiligen Seele gegeben ... 230

leaves, 284 p.. All works are complete. The first work was originally 
published as by "A Person of Qualitie JPMD". John Pordage, Anglican rector 
of Bradfield who experienced visionary revelations of angelic and demonic 
proportions. He was twice tried for heresy, and removed from his ministry 
on the second occasion. He had visions of angels and dragons, spirits and 
invisible worlds. He became the leader of The Philadelphians, a protestant 
(non-Anglican) religious sect, and was a follower of the ideas and 
philosophy of Jacob Boehme. His books are elaborate, lucid and concise 
works of Christian Mysticism. From the library of Charles Muses, with 
ownership sticker and the stamp of the Jacob Boehme Society on the front 
endpaper. his annotations on a few leaves and notes on the rear endpapers. 
There is an older bookplate on the front paste-down. Some old tape marks on 
endpapers, but complete and fresh in the vellum, pleasing. Rare.
