SUBJECTS. By the Bishop of Cloyne. London: Printed fur J. and R. Tonson and S. 
Draper. 1752. First edition. 268pp. A collection of 10 essays & poems, each with 
its own title page. The final essay is in Latin. Cont. speckled calf, finely 
rebacked in period style, orig. red calf spine label laid down, gilt decorated 
spine compartments.     $1,250.00 (trade discount allowed)
Two of the sections relate to America: “Verses on the Prospect of Planting 
Arts and Learning in America,” and “A Proposal for Better Supplying of Churches 
in Our Foreign Plantations, and for Converting the Savage Americans to 
Christianity, by a College to Be Erected in.. Bermuda.” Sabin 4877.
