London: Baldwin, Cradock & Joy, [ca.1825]. Full cloth, Octavo, [not
paginated, ca. 200 pages + plates], Colored plates. Very Good.
The first volume of Maund's monumental study of the flowers of Great
Britain, containing herein 24 hand-colored engraved plates showing 4 flowers
to a plate. Each plate is followed by the individual descriptions and data
on the 4 flowers just depicted. This well preserved volume in bound in green
cloth over boards with a leather spine label titled in gilt and a gilt
numeral I near heal of spine, sprinkled textblock edges. Hinges cracked,
spine somewhat faded, but otherwise very good. Some minor scattered foxing
but plates remain clean and bright. $350.00
