Isthmus of Darien"  By Thos. Oliver Selfridge. Published by Washington 
Government Printing Office: 1874

This extremely important survey of various possible canal routes through 
Central America is illustrated with 14 highly detailed and fine full-page, 
three-color lithographs, which were prepared from photographs taken by T.H. 
O'Sullivan (T. Sinclair & Son Lithographers). The Appendix consists of a 
"Summary of work performed by the Darien expeditions of 1870-1871, and 1873 
and 17 large, folding maps titled:
