author.  A  Burgess 99 book: "The book is allegory,  parody,  didactic
treatise,  fable,  religious  codex, and the taking  of  it  seriously
entails  the  taking  of  it   unseriously"  (p.  98).  Barth's  first
commercial  success and something of a cult book. Spine with very mild
soiling;  slipcase with a few small nicks on the back edge. Near  Fine
