Theodore G. Ellyson, and Hugh Robinson). THE CURTISS AVIATION BOOK.
New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, (1912). First printing, Full cloth, 
Duodecimo, x, 307 pages, black & white plates. Good.
      First edition of Curtiss's important book on early aviation. Includes 
chapters on the future of the aeroplane, early hydroaeroplanes, Curtiss's 
flights, description of the Curtiss Biplane, the Curtiss Motor and Factory, 
and much more. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine 
and upper board, black and white photo illustration laid onto upper board, 
spine lettering dulled. Minor edge rubs and wear to cloth. Front free 
endpaper has a diagonal crease from top fore corner to a point on bottom 
edge about 1" from fore edge. There are some slight separations between some 
signatures but hinges remain sound, endpapers not cracked. Two leaves and 
one plate have their lower fore corners torn away on about a 2 1/2" line to 
a depth of about 3/4". Not affecting any text or image. Some light browning 
to endpapers.    $300.00
