Leech, John. [Complete Series of Etchings Illustrating] DOUGLAS JERROLD’S 
SHILLING MAGAZINE. London 1845-1847. 20 mounted India proof etchings, each on 
heavy board. These 20 etchings by Leech illustrated Jerrold’s novel, “St. Giles 
and St. James,” which was first published in “Jerrold’s Shilling Magazine” 
(Nos. I-XXIX, Jan, 1845 to May, 1847), Housed in a linen folder, and red 
morocco and cloth slipcase (a bit rubbed). OFFERED WITH: a 2-1/2 page ALS by Leech, 
Aug. 27, 1861, to “My Dear Leigh,” very probably his good friend and author 
Percival Leigh.     $1,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
When the novel “St. Giles and St. James” appeared separately in 1851 (as 
Volume I of “The Writings of Douglas Jerrold”), only one of the original 20
