CRUISINGS IN THE CASCADES. A NARRATIVE OF TRAVEL, EXPLORATION, AMATEUR
PHOTOGRAPHY, HUNTING AND FISHING... by G.O. Shields. Chicago & New York;
Rand, McNally & Company: 1889.
The author of "Rustlings in the Rockies", "Hunting in the Great West" and
"The Battle of the Big Hole" takes on the Cascades. The book includes
"special chapters on hunting the grizzly bear, the buffalo, elk, antelope,
rocky mountain goat, and deer; also on trouting in the Rocky Mountains; on
a Montana round-up; life among the cowboys, etc."
Hardcover. 6.5"x9", 339 pages, + 12 pages of advertisements for guns,
cameras and other outdoor gear; beautiful brown and gold pictorial covers,
illustrating an elk; a scuff to the rear cover, and a very small one to the
front, tips bumped, but the striking covers are essentially in brilliant
condition; contents clean and nice, the main fault in this copy being the
fact that some of the signatures are partially pulled. [01161] $125.00 net
