From our catalogue of primarily SIGNED PRESIDENTIAL material posted on our
website: http://www.erols.com/agvent. Also included are important signed and
association copies of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson, and
Theodore Roosevelt.
ROOSEVELT, Theodore (Teddy). THE COMPLETE WRITINGS OF THEODORE
ROOSEVELT (THE WORKS OF THEODORE ROOSEVELT). Philadelphia: Gebbie and
Company 1902-1903. Royal Edition. Sixteen octavo (5-3/4" x 8-1/2")
bound in 3/4 dark blue morocco with gilt rules and decorated spines,
comprising the Royal Edition of Roosevelt's works, this being set #95
of 650. This may or may not be a complete set as we have seen similar
"Uniform Edition" sets issued in both 16 and 22 volumes. Present here
are THE WILDERNESS HUNTER in two volumes, AMERICAN IDEALS in two
volumes, THE WINNING OF THE WEST in six volumes, RANCH LIFE AND THE
HUNTING-TRAIL, HERO TALES FROM AMERICAN HISTORY, HUNTING TRIPS OF A
RANCHMAN in two volumes, THE ROUGH RIDERS, and THE STRENUOUS LIFE.
The last two titles have rather serious damage with the lower corner
of the rear cover and the very bottom tips of all the pages chewed,
the front joint repaired, and the spine a bit dulled on THE STRENUOUS
LIFE; THE ROUGH RIDERS has marginal dampstaining with a fairly large
portion of the top of the front cover deteriorated exposing the board
underneath the leather and paper. The remaining volumes show only
light shelfwear and rubbing. Still a Very Good set, quite attractive
on the shelf. $2500.00
