ENGLISH BIJOU ALMANAC FOR 1840. London: A. Schloss, 1840. Miniature 
Book, (3/4" x 9/16"). Illustrated by Samuel S. Lover with 5 portraits 
including the Duchess of Sutherland, English actor W. C. Macready, &c. 
Bound in full leather with blue leather oval title labels on both 
covers. All edges gilt. Book in leather slipcase of similar design, 
housed in leather covered box with brass clasp, silk lining, and gilt 
title on lid. Includes a miniature tortoise shell magnifying glass. 
Slight rubbing near clasp, otherwise it is a near fine example of the 
art of the miniature. Welsh 2659. $1350
