AN INQUIRY INTO THE NATURE AND CAUSES OF THE WEALTH OF NATIONS  London 
Printed for A. Strahan and T. Cadell.  1793 Seventh Edition.
A handsome three volume set in sprinkled calf covers with dentelle edges. 
Flat spine with bands of red and black leather containing the title and 
roman numerals in gilt..  Plain, original end papers with engraved armorial 
bookplate of (a) Nicholas Hill in each volume and two pencil additions in 
the upper corners of the front pasted down end papers.  A former owner has 
added ink scripted words preceding and following the words "into the" in 
the title on each title page.  The bindings are tight and the hinges have 
no need of restoration/reinforcement.  Slight wear to top of the spine 
edges and some loss of gilt to the edge dentelles.  Gilt on the title of 
volume three is weak. There is a stained outline along the glue lines 
around the outside edges of the pasted down end papers  - with offset to 
the free end papers and a light bleed through to the first and last blank 
pages.  The covers are clean.  The interior pages are clean with faint 
foxing and sporadic heavier spots of foxing.  There is a small indented 
heart shape on some pages of volume two.  There are no other marks or 
writing.  Nicely cared for.  $2250.00
