*ROBBINS, Tod*. /*SILENT, WHITE AND BEAUTIFUL*/ */and Other Stories/*.
Bound in original blue cloth with lettering blocked in gilt. Boni and
Liveright, New York City. 1920. 1st edition, 8vo, pp. ix, 250. With a
[silly] Preface by Robert H. Davis and three short stories and one novella.
"An original and inexhaustible imagination characterizes these tales of
phantasy and terror. The author is alone in his field today". "Tod
Robbins" is the pseudonym of Clarence Aaron Robbins (1888-1949), an
ex-patriate American author and contributor to pulp magazines. There is
a small mottled discolouration to the top right corner of the cloth of
the front board, and a few smaller spots elsewhere. The spine is a bit
sunned. The rear board is a bit scuffed. The tips are bumped. The hinges
are tight, and the contents are free of former owner's markings.
Overall, in good plus, to very good, condition. The original dust jacket
is present. The folds show wear and rubbing, and it is somewhat soiled,
with incipient tears to the tops and bottoms of the folds.
Notwithstanding, the jacket is still in pretty decent shape for its age,
and is in good condition. Very scarce in dust jacket.
