Our next catalogue, due next week, will feature an outstanding collection of
Tennessee Williams as well as a smaller collection of Eudora Welty.
The following is accompanied by a photograph of the signing, the recipient being
an well-respected bookseller.
REAGAN, Ronald. AN AMERICAN LIFE. New York: Simon & Schuster
(1990). First Edition. INSCRIBED to ----- "With very best wishes" and
SIGNED by the former President on 17 December 1990 on the page with
the publisher's logo preceding the title page. Books genuinely signed
by Reagan have become quite scarce and usually turn up with a signed
bookplate rather than actually signed in the book, as the case here.
The Reagan Presidential Library is still selling copies with a
bookplate signed by Reagan for $4,000. One should also be aware that
the market has been flooded with fake Reagan signatures in books sold
on ebay where the great majority of "signed" Ronald Reagan books
offered are forgeries. Fine in Fine dustwrapper. $2500.00
