Complete with an engraved frontispiece portrait of the author, 7 engraved 
plates (1 hand-colored and folding), and a woodcut text diagram. Late 19th c. 1/2 
brown morocco, gilt, over marbled boards, extremities lightly rubbed. One 
plate with an old water stain in lower blank margin.   An attractive copy, with 
the correct number of plates.        $400.00 (trade discount allowed)
Despite a title reference to the “Late Thomas Pennant” and a preface 
supposedly written from the spirit world, the author (1726-1798) was still alive when 
the book was published.
