Racine, Jean. ANDROMACHE: A TRAGEDY. Lexington, KY: Anvil Press, 1986. Red paper-covered boards and black cloth spine. 4to. 52 pages and XIX tableau folios. Printed on Iyo glazed paper. In a red dust jacket. Freely translated into English in 1674 from Jean Racine’s Andromaque by a Young Gentleman & John Crowne. Illustrated by Fritz Kredel. One of 100 copies (this one number 31) printed by Carolyn Hammer in Victor Hammer’s American and Andromaque uncial types. The tableaux were printed by W. Gay Reading at the Windell Press. Laid in are a prospectus and a series of four pieces of correspondence between Carolyn Hammer and Lewis & Dorothy Allen showing that Hammer traded this book to the Allens for one of their books. Fine/Near Fine. $700.00 postpaid
