First edition. Octavo, contemporary half leather over red cloth 
boards, the spine with raised bands, title label. 260 + 425 pp., 
Index, both volumes bound together. An important history of Alchemy. 
The leather has been neatly preserved with a glaze, not that 
noticable, light soiling to boards, old bookseller's ticket from 
Samuel Weiser Books in New York on front endpaper. From the library 
of mystical philosopher Charles Muses, with the "Jacob Boehme 
Society" stamp and a small sticker on the paste-down "Dr. M's Study 
7". Muses has made a few pencil marks and annotations. A very good 
copy. Scarce.
