Greetings Booklovers,

We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 9077 ) Rowland, Kate Mason. THE LIFE OF CHARLES CARROLL OF CARROLLTON,
1737-1832, WITH HIS CORRESPONDENCE AND PUBLIC PAPERS (IN 2 VOLUMES).
New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1898. Limited edition, Original cloth,
Octavos, xxii, 400 & vi, 487 pages, black & white plates. Very good, ex

Charles Carroll of Carrollton in Maryland was the longest living and

Father and the political struggles in Maryland on the eve of the American
Revolution. Includes a bibliography, a census of [then] known portraits of
Carroll, and a fold-out genealogical table of the Carroll line. One of 750
letterpress copies, the type being distributed after printing. HOWES #R476.
Bound in pebbled maroon cloth over boards with spines lettered in gilt,
Carroll coat of arms in gilt on upper boards, top edges gilt. Tissue guarded
frontispieces. Small private library stamps at lower fore corners of both
front free endpapers and both title pages, number stamped on both title
pages, catalogue numbers in white at heels of both spines. A few leaves
roughly opened, a few yet unopened. Bindings and hinges remain snug, gilt
bright. Easily fine but for the institutional markings. $200.00
