Wolfensberger, Arnold. "THEORY OF SILK WEAVING. A Treatise on the
construction and application of weaves, and the decomposition and
calculation of silk fabrics"

New York; The American Silk Journal Co.: 1896.

A technical work designed to forward the technical knowledge of young
American silk-workers, illustrated with many charts and with 6 samples of
actual silks. Wolfensberger was a graduate of the Textile Institute of
Zurich. Later edition were published in 1897 and 1921; all are uncommon in
the trade today.

Hardcover. 6”x9.5”, 99, ii, + 3 pages of advertisements. 95 patterns with
red highlights, plus 6 tipped-in fabric samples, as called for, and two
additional tipped-in fabrics samples with pen notes, apparently an
addition by a former owner. Publisher’s red cloth with gilt titles and
cover design. Covers a bit rubbed and scuffed, front hinge cracked and
wobbly, rear hinge starting. [31035] $150.00
