May 2nd & 3rd, 1922. Original printed wrappers, a little
edge-chipped. Illustrations. 1020 items with full titles and
annotations. There is a Foreword by Minns and a Preface. (A really
extraordinary collection, and certainly among the finest collections
of books and related material on a single subject formed by an
American woman. Susan Minns studied at MIT, having been refused
admission to Harvard. She was a benefactor of the Gray Herbarium, of
Wellesley, &c, and was one of the founders of the Woods Hole Marine
Biological Laboratory. She was a passionate advocate of women's
education. This important Catalog is often cited. According to the
NY Times of May 3rd, 1922, the sale fetched over $17,000. The
highest priced item was a manuscript of Boethius from the 15th
Century bought by Rosenbach for $1,025.00) $150.00
