cloth, Quarto, xvi, 444 pages, black and white photographs, maps. Near Fine 
in a Near Fine Dust Jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
      INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Admiral Fluckey on half title page. Fluckey 
describes the daring, close range combat tactics which he and his crew used 
against the Japanese Navy. A gripping account written by the skipper 
himself. The USS Barb sank the greatest tonnage of any American sub in World 
War II. Fluckey was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and four Navy 
Crosses for his valor under fire. Here he uses archival documents from the 
Japanese Navy to give its version many of the events described herein. Bound 
in dark blue cloth over boards with gilt stamped spine lettering, endpaper 
maps. Jacket has a few shallow edge wrinkles. Bright and attractive copy.
