Philadelphia., [between 1850 and 1857?]: 120 Pp., 
[5] leaves of plates : ill. ; 17 cm.: Plates are 
lithographed and very sensitively hand colored. 
Consists of short stories. Includes information 
on the manufacture of glass, bullets, lace, and 
silk. Cover bears the motto: "Pray and work then 
God will help!" According to Philadelphia city 
directories, John Weik was listed as a stationer 
between 1850 and 1851; he was listed as an 
individual publisher between 1854 and 1857. John 
Weik imprints bearing issue dates of 1851 and 
1856 have been located. In chromolithographed 
boards. Most of the chromolithographed backstrip 
is still attached in this copy. The AAS copy 
lacks this. OCLC notes 2 Locs. U of. Fla., Ct. 
Hist. Soc. MWA unnoted. Wear to edges of boards, 
crown and foot of spine lack a total of  ¾", OW VG. $350.00
