GODDARD, ROBERT H.  LIQUID-PROPELLANT ROCKET DEVELOPMENT (WITH 11 
PLATES).  Washington: Smithsonian Institution, March 16, 1936. The 
rare first edition. Original printed wrappers, (2), 10 pages plus the 
11 plates.  Large faded stamp on wrappers, "Mercantile Library, 
Gift," dated 3-25-36 (9 days after publication,) otherwise a 
well-preserved copy of this fragile and quite important 
report.  Small ownership name inside front cover of Milton A. 
Rothman, well-known nuclear physicist & si-fi author.  (Goddard's 
ground-breaking experiments in the '20s and 30s are summarized in 
this pamphlet. "Goddard was the first scientist who not only realized 
the potentialities of missiles and space flight but also contributed 
directly in bringing them to practical realization" - NASA. The 
Goddard Space Flight Center is named for him.)  $1350.00  (Trade
