We are pleased to offer the following, postpaid to the US, all other at
cost.

Brigham, William T.; GUATEMALA - THE LAND OF THE QUETZAL, A SKETCH; New
York; Charles Scribner's Sons; 1887; Octavo (8 ¾ by 6"); xv, 453, [xvi,
ads], The First Edition

In Good condition, bound in the publisher's decorative green cloth, titled
and credited in gilt and black letters to the front board over a black and
gilt embossed Quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala, titled and credited
in gilt to the spine, centered over a line drawing of the monolith shown on
the frontis plate. With the tissue covered frontis of a monolith intact, 25
black and white plates and numerous in-text illustrations, a total of 5
maps, with 3 of them folding, one in color. In short, it collates complete.
The book has some rubbing to the corners and the hinges are cracked, but
still holding strong. The largest faults being some rather sever browning to
the spine and some chipping to the head and tail of same, but in all, a very
respectable example, near fine internally. The appendix contains, among
other things, a bibliography of works pertaining to Central America along
with the names of towns, a chart of the 19 known ethic groups, and a list of
plants found there. Very comprehensive. $85

Many Thanks,

Hugh
