First Edition

About Very Good, bound in the publisher's black cloth, titled and credited
in silver to the spine between two gold rules, with the top stained a
bluish-grey as called for; with the head of the spine beginning to fray and
some offsetting to the pastedowns, but quite sound and presentable. In a
Fair Dust Jacket, with the publisher's price of $2.75 intact to the front
flap with chipping about the head and tail, with flaps rubbed on the
creases, with an archival repair (not showing from the front) to reinforce
the fold, with some fading to the spine panel. Presents much better than it
sounds. The Author's second book, and his First collection of Stories in
book form, several of them having been previously published in periodicals.
With the publication of this book, Capote declares he has entered the
beginning of the second cycle of his development as a writer. He would go on
to write for another 34 years. *$130*
