Near fine. A portfolio of plates drawn by Chester price of the
architectural accomplishments of the architectural firm of Delano and
Aldrich. Some examples are Cliff House in Newport RI, the studio of
Mrs. Harry Payne and the estate of Egerton Winthrop. $450.00 {72071}

Company, 1924. Second edition. Half cloth with paper-covered
decorated boards. Folio. Near fine. In two parts. Part two contains
fine examples of lithographic title pages and book-plates. A lovely
volume and in superb condition. Previous owner's attractive

3. MCLAUGHLIN AND BURR, ARCHITECTS. TWO ALBUMS OF ORIGINAL DESIGNS,
PLANS, BLUEPRINTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS OF PROPOSED AND FINISHED BUILDINGS,
MAINLY SCHOOLS IN MASSACHUSETTS. Boston., ca. 1900-35. Near fine.
This archive may represent the nearly complete opus for this
architecture firm. One album contains the older sepia toned
photographs by Thomas Ellison and Paul J. Weber and others. It also
contains blueprints and designs. The other album contains later
photographs by Paul J. Weber and other photographers and designs.
The photos are large (8 x 10". Some of the schools herein are Public
Latin School (now Boston Latin), Belmont High School, Watertown High
School, Saltonstall School, Salem High School, Audubon School,
Dorchester High School. Many of the photographs and plans are loose
in the albums. There are approximately 60 photographs and many plans
and blueprints.

4. ROBINSON, P. F. (PETER FREDERICK). DESIGNS FOR GATE COTTAGES,
LODGES, AND PARK ENTRANCES, IN VARIOUS STYLES, FROM THE HUMBLEST TO
THE CASTELLATED. London: Henry G. Bohn, 1837. Illustrated by 48
plates (12 lithographs by Allom and Harding printed by Hullmandel,
and 36 engravings). Third, Greatly Improved edition. Signed by A. W.
Longfellow Jr., nephew of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. 4to. [4to.
[1]f, iv, [24], [2](advertisments) pgs] Originally published in
parts in 1832, the "First Edition" is dated 1833, and this "Third
Edition, Greatly Improved" is in essence the second, with the text
reset, but the plates are the originals. The binding is quite worn
with old damp stains. The text block is almost separated from the
binding at the inner front hinge. The contents, however are very good
with just a bit of scattered foxing. From the library of Alexander
Wadsworth Longfellow Jr. (1854-1934) was a noted Colonial Revival
architect and partner in the firm of Longfellow, Alden & Harlow, one
of the founders of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts, and active
in the Marine Museum of the Bostonian Society. He apprenticed with H.

5. SMALL, JOHN . W. SCOTTISH ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS.: Eneas Mackay,
Stirling/Gibbings & Company, Ltd, London, 1901. Illustrated by 65
drawings and sketches of both Ecclesiastical and Domestic Art in
stone, wood, and metal word, sketched and measured, and redrawn for
the stone by the author, with individual description accompanying
each plate. Limited edition. One of only 400 copies. Yellow cloth
with red titling at front board and spine. Folio. Very good.
Originally published by the author in 1880 as "Leaves from my Sketch
Book", limited to 300. This new edition replaces seven Town cross
and French design plates with seven Scottish subject plates. Binding
cloth smudged with finger prints, spine cloth discolored (dark).
Corners worn, one small tear at upper edge of spine cloth at the
rear. Leaves split near center of book, revealing stitching but spine
is intact not broken. Otherwise contents are clean and sound.
