[Rarebooks] ALERT- Rare Book Theft in New Hampshire

Fellow Booksellers--

Family members of Harvard philosopher William Ernest Hocking (1873 - 1966)
have discovered that a large quantity of books from his library were
stolen during the weekend of February 16-18 from a family home in northern
New Hampshire.  The missing books include a large amount of solid 19th and
20th century scholarly material in philosophy, religion and international
law as well as valuable 17th & 18th century philosophy.  The scholarly
material includes 19th century editions of Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus,
Epictetus, Cicero, etc. plus works on classical philosophy by Zeller,
Lodge, Inge, etc.  This is just the tip of the iceberg of the scholarly
works.  Much of this has the ownership signature of William E. Hocking.

All payments must be in U.S. funds and negotiable through a U.S. bank; We
accept checks, money orders, American Express, Visa and Mastercard. Books
may be reserved pending payment; Institutions may be billed; Standard
courtesies to institutions and the trade; Postage charges are $5.00 for
the first book, and $2.00 for each additional book. Shipments outside the
U.S. will be billed at cost. We accept returns if we are notified within
ten days of your receipt of the books-please ask for full instructions and
terms. Massachusetts residents must add 5% state sales tax.
