MAPS, PLANS VIEWS AND COINS, ILLUSTRATIVE OF THE TRAVELS OF ANACHARSIS 
THE YOUNGER IN GREECE, DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE FOURTH CENTURY BEFORE 
THE CHRISTIAN ERA. Map volume only. London: Printed for G. G. J. and J. 
Robinson, 1791. Quarto in old marbled boards backed in leather. Covers 
worn, lacking title label on spine and covers detached. Endpapers loose 
with chipped edges. Old name on top margin of title page and 1/4" x 2" 
of top margin cut away (former owner's name?). Includes folding map of 
Greece and the Grecian Islands, dated August 1788, with 2" closed tear 
along fold; double-page maps including Thermopylae dated November 1784, 
Battle of Salamis dated March 1785...some maps with hand-colored 
borders...31 plates in all including Plato's Discourse, building views 
and plans, and a plate of coins. Paper toned and most images with offset 
as usual, a nice copy in need of rebinding. $325
