except for the woodcut device on the verso. Title in Greek & Latin, text entirely 
in Greek. 19th century boards, a bit rubbed. Some light marginal water stains 
and some old marginal annotations.     $2,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
Editio Princeps of the Greek text of Arrian’s geographical study of the Black 
Sea, written for the emperor Hadrian in the year 131. Along with other early 
geographical texts: the important PERIPLUS by Hanno, the voyage which goes to 
Africa and is the only description of Africa south of the Sahara prior to the 
Portuguese voyages of the 15th century; and texts by Plutarch and Strabo. Very
