1933 OFFICIAL SOUVENIR PROGRAM. WORLD
SERIES 1933. GIANTS vs SENATORS / Polo Grounds. New York: Harry M.
Stevens (1933) 4to, original designed wrappers, (20) pp. Nice copy,
slight edge wear; stylized cover. Despite the indication that this
program was sold at the Polo Grounds, the internal scorecards record
in pencil the fifth and final game at Griffith Stadium, October 7,
1933. Hubbell had won game 1 (4-2) with a complete game at the Polo
Grounds, home run by Mel Ott. Schumacher threw a complete game and
the Giants won game 2 (6-1); Goslin homered for the Senator's only
run. Whitehill beat Fitzsimmons for the Senator's only win in the
Series in game 3 (4-0). Hubbell returned with a second complete game
(the Giants' third) to win 2-1, Bill Terry homering in the fourth
inning. In game 5, Mel Ott homered again, with two out in the top of
the tenth, enabling the Giants to seize the series. $750.00
