BARNUM, P. T AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS) matted with a portrait
Bridgeport, CT 29 Aug. 1866.  A one-page letter (5" x 7-3/4") nicely 
double-matted with a large modern glossy photographic reproduction of an 
old photograph of Barnum to an overall size of 18" x 14".  Explanation 
of how much he charges for lectures.  In part: "I did not get your first 
letter.  I shall be lecturing West (Illinois, etc.) till middle Dec. 
Expect I may lecture for you after that but cannot decide till after I 
have tried it in Nov. for my throat may give out.  Terms $100 and a part 
of expenses-- what part would depend upon whether I give any other 
lecture on the route."  SIGNED "P. T. Barnum."  Normal creases from 
folding.  Few minor stains.  Attractive.        $850.00
