KEATE, George. AN ACCOUNT OF THE PELEW ISLANDS SITUATED IN THE
WESTERN PART OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN.... London: G. Nicol 1788. Second
Edition. Quarto (9" x 11-3/4") bound in full modern calf with new
endpapers, old endpapers retained. xxviii, 378 pages. Composed from
the journals and communications of Captain Henry Wilson, and some of
his officers who, in August 1783, were shipwrecked there. Illustrated
with a portrait of Wilson, a large folding map, and 15 other plates,
some folding, including portraits, views, and ornaments. Some
offsetting to text from plates, occasional browning to text and
plates, but generally a clean, wholesome copy. Stamp of Paulist
Father's Library on the title page, verso of two plates, and one text
page. Very Good in serviceable binding. $950.00
