Le Vavasseur, Gustave. "INTER AMICOS" Paris; Henri Plon: 1866.

A book of poetry by the noted French sculptor and poet, Gustave le
Vavasseur [1819-1896]. Le Vavasseur was a compatriot of Baudelaire, and
both were among the founders of the Normandy School of French poetry in
the 1840s. This book is most interesting for its illustrations, which
consist of two mounted albumen plates- the frontispiece shows a medallion
bust of Vavasseur, the second plate illustrates the interior of his
sculpture studio. Scarce- OCLC locates only 2 copies, both of which are
noted as having only a single plate.

Hardcover. 5”x7.25”, 174 pages, 2 albumen prints; publisher’s pebbled
green cloth with leather spine label; light cover rubbing, but a nice,
tight, clean copy. [30912] $200.00
