Volume 12, Volume 13, Volume 14, and Volume
15. Vol. 15, issued in 1985 as v. 32 of the

contains previously missing plates which were
located in 1949. Included with this set is the
Second edition of Volume One, issued in 4
fasicules, the revised and corrected edition
edited by Sylvie Cauville and Didier Devauchelle.
The text of Volume One (the 1892 edition) seems
somewhat amiss, with perhaps the fourth fascicule
being not bound in (i.e., lacking), pagination is
to page 440, with then 5 photographic plates
numbered 4-8, and then plates XI-XLVIc, followed
by 593-614 the Index des titres des tableaux and the Table des Matieres.
In any event, this set is at least 90% complete,
the missing text (if any) in Volume 1 is covered
with the inclusion of the revised editions, there
is the possibility of a few missing plates; all
in all, a stupendous set. Condition: mostly bound
with the original wrappers present, there is the
odd damage to a few leaves, mostly with no loss.
These came from the collection of mystical
philosopher Charles Muses, who sometimes made
pencil notes to the text, but mostly he has
marked the title leaves somewhat. The bindings
are all in nice unworn condition, the wrappered
issues are near fine. Overall, impressive copies
of a major work published over the course of a
century. Few copies exist worldwide in
institutional libraries, fewer still in private
hands. Near-complete sets such as this are, indeed, rare.
