A ROYALIST LETTER IN NUMERIC CIPHER from SIR EDWARD NICHOLAS to 
MARQUESS OF ORMONDE - OXFORD 1644
Long manuscript letter, mostly in numeric cipher, written from OXFORD 
at the height of the English Civil War, from SIR EDWARD NICHOLAS, 
secretary of state to King Charles I, to the MARQUESS OF ORMONDE 
(sometimes spelled Ormond), commander of the Royalist forces in 
Ireland. One sheet  of watermarked laid paper, tall folio (33.5 x 21cm; 
13 x 8.25in), with writing on both sides, possibly in a secretarial 
hand, and signed: "Oxon 15th of Aprill 1644 / Edw. Nicholas."... [etc.]

[SIR THOMAS FAIRFAX and THOMAS GLEMHAM] ORDERS for the SURRENDER of the 
CITY OF OXFORD - 1646.
Orders and Instructions from the Lords of the Kings Majesties Privie 
Councell, for the Commissioners appointed to Treat for the surrender of 
the City of Oxford, to the Parliament. With Severall Letters and Papers 
that passed between Sir Thomas Fairfax, and Sir Thomas Glemham, about 
the same. Being examined by the originall Papers; these are appointed 
to be printed, and published according to Order of Parliament. London:
