Greetings Booklovers,
We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 8972 ) [Lincoln, Abraham (1809-1865)]. GETTYSBURG ADDRESS.
[Chicago]: [Lakeside Press], [1964]. Folder, Folio, . Very good.
This is the Donnelley DEEPTONE® Offset Facsimile of Lincoln's
Gettysburg Address, printed on two sheets at the Lakeside Press for R. R.
Donnelley & Sons Company for the Illinois Pavilion at the New York World's
Fair. This copy is still in the original folder accompanied by the 7 page
booklet with articles on Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address by Clyde C.
Walton and Ralph G. Newman. The famous Disneyland attraction "Great Moments
with Mr. Lincoln" debuted at the Illinois Pavilion during this same World's
Fair (1964-1965). This facsimile is based on the Everett copy of the Address
and presents a strikingly authentic appearance, right down to the lines in
the paper and Everett's faintly written page numbers at the top right
corners. Each of the two sheets measures 19.2 cm x 24.1 cm. The two-page
facsimile remains in fine condition. The folder shows a few bumps and corner
creases and is slightly faded at edges, while the booklet inside has a few
surface rubs to the front cover. $50.00
