Gyselynck 1861. First Edition. Large Octavo (6-7/8" x 10-1/4") bound
in handsome red morocco-backed red boards. Volume 8 of this series,
one of the finest chromolithographed botanical journals ever
published. Though it lasted until 1896, it is the early years
(1854-1868) when it was edited by Charles Lemaire and published by
Ambroise Verschaffelt in Ghent that the plates were the finest. The
plates were printed in color and often finished by hand resulting in
bold, vibrant colors. This copy is complete with 39 color plates,
including one folding. The plates can often be found sold
individually, often for hundreds of dollars. Fine with vivid, bright

botanical journals ever published. Though it lasted until 1896, it is

title pages but is otherwise complete with 43 color plates, including
