Hartford: American Publishing Company, 1875. First Edition, Original cloth,
Octavo, [8], 17-320 pages, engraved cuts. Very good.
The first complete collection of Twain's humorous tales, including the
Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, Political Economy, The Petrified Man, and
much more. Second state of the first edition, lacking the points called for
by Blanck on pages 120 and 299. No errata slip. Bound in original dark blue
cloth with spine and upper board lettered and decorated in black and gilt,
lower board decorated in black only, pale yellow endpapers. Spine is mildly
darkened, wear at extremities includes shallow chipping to heel of spine.
Hinges are not cracked. Occasional foxing. A very attractive copy.
