Hannover, Germany: 1887 .  11.75 x 9 inches, maroon cloth over flexible
boards, with black stamped decorative border and cover gilt titles. Figured
endpapers. Cover flaps fold over portfolio style to create deep inside
pockets. pp X+59+22. With 19 plates, some folding. IN GERMAN. The plates are
detailed engravings of brakes and their components and applications. Some of
the very large folding plates depict locomotive, tender, passenger cars,
etc. Very clean and sound internally, cover color and gilt are bright, light
wear at edges, a couple of corners rubbed through cloth. Very unusual item
on railroad air brakes. $350
