ELLARD, Harry. BASE BALL IN CINCINNATI. A HISTORY. Cincinnati:
1907. First Edition. Handsome gilt-decorated white cloth. While this
book is occasionally seen in later editions, this First Edition is
very scarce. The history of Queen City baseball goes back to the
Cincinnati Red Stockings who in 1869 won the first game ever played
by a professional baseball team. In 1935 the Cincinnati Reds won the
first night game played in the major leagues at Crosley Field. The
illustrious history of the Big Red Machine continues to this day with
future Hall-of-Famer Ken Griffey, Jr. leading the club. Minor
soiling to the spine; owner name of Richard Phillips on the
front endpaper. Near Fine, bright copy and scarce, especially in this
