Fine.
      Account of the origins and rise of Washington's Episcopal Methodist 
community which also includes many interwoven facts and anecdotes about the 
history of the city at large. There is information on Thomas Jefferson in 
Washington, the fates of certain buildings used by the church as early 
meeting houses, the use of the Fourth Street church as a hospital during the 
Civil War, and much more. An appendix gives details about specific churches. 
Good genealogical material in the section on individual preachers. Bound in 
maroon cloth over boards with upper and lower boards ruled in blind, spine 
titled in gilt which has darkened and dulled with age. Spine shows a touch 
of sun fading, binding extremities have minor wear but overall very clean 
and sound.    $125.00
