This is the first French translation of Teresa of Avila’s (1515-1582) 
mystical work, known in English as “The Interior Castle".   Although the title page 
calls this “the second edition” it is more accurately the second issue. It is 
the same text as the first (also 1601) with the only addition being the new 
index. See Palau 299091 and also Palau, Vol. 19, p. 461.
