George Cruikshank, Phiz; Hogarth, Houghton Mifflin, 1926, Limited Edition: 
Ten volumes of Fielding's works, 160/500 copies, stated. With illustrations 
by Hogarth, George Cruikshank, and Phiz (Hablot K. Browne), each protected 
by tissue guards. Frontispiece to each issue, Tom Jones, Vol. I., portrait 
of Henry Fielding, by Hogarth, engraved by Samuel Freeman. Biographical 
Notes, accompany Tom Jones, Amelia and Joseph Andrews. Title page and 
half-title in red and black type. "This Edition printed from type at the 
Shakespeare Head Press Stratford-upon-Avon England is Limited to Five 
Hundred copies of which this is 160," to copyright page. Deckled page edges, 
many pages uncut at fore-edge and top. Jonathan Wild (c. 1683-1725) was a 
famous criminal of London, and ran a successful gang of thieves. He was 
often the subject novelists, playwrights, and political satirists.  Large 
Paper Edition: Tom Jones 4 Volumes; Amelia 3 Volumes; Jonathan Wild, I 
Volume; Joseph Andrews, 2 Volumes. Henry Fielding (1707-1754). Tan paper 
boards over tan buckram spine, each with leather title panel, and gilt 
lettering. Mild soil, to boards, like rubbing to extremities, and title 
panel. Very clean, all tightly bound. A very lovely set. tall 8 vo's., each

The Complete Works of Oscar Wilde; Patrons Edition De Luxe, 11 volumes, 
Oscar Wilde, Doubleday Page, Garden City, NY, 1923: Eleven volumes from this 
12 volume set of Oscar Wilde's novels, plays, prose, poetry, criticism, 
lectures and essays. Volume IV (4) is missing; I have two volumes VII (7). 
Volume I has portrait of Wilde to prelim. All title pages in black and 
orange ink, introduction's to each volume by different literary figures: 
Yeats;  Richard le Gallienne; Arthur Symonds; A.B. Walkley, and others. 
Contents of Vol. I., Poems; II., Vera and other plays; III., The Happy 
Prince and other Fairy Tales; V., Intentions; VI., Lord Arthur Savile's

treated paper spine, paste down title panel to spine. Title panels toned, 
lettering clear, volume XII panel chipped to lower right corner. Decorative 
gilt edge between boards and spine. Upper spine ends bumped, various have 
tiny closed tears to head of spine. Deckled page edges. TEG. Some very mild 
random foxing to prelims, or title page.  Very clean, no writing, solidly

drawing to the prelim page, verso are a list of quotes; photogravures and 
drawing illustrations, some by famous French illustrator Adolphe Lalauze, 
Facing Limitation page is a dedication page "Inscribed to the Memory of" to 
different people in Burton's life. Volume I., 14 plates, photogravures and 
drawings; hand written poem in pencil to rear e.p., to pastedown neatly 
printed list of descriptions, i.e. Men squat -women stand, with page number 
reference. Printed as if typed. Facsimile from the original edition of 
dedication to John Frederick Steinhaueser, "who a quarter of a century ago 
Assisted Me in This Translation". Vol. II. 7, photogravures and drawings, 
pg. 307. lower side edge few crease with two 1/2 closed tears. Also neat

photogravures have tissue guard, and small decoration to margin of 
illustration. Black cloth boards and spine, stamped title on gilt wrap 
around banner, gilt title (in Arabic) and volume numbers to spine. Many 
photogravures by Adolphe Lalauze, French Illustrator (1838-1906). Each 
volume has an index. Various volumes have random red underlining to text and 
footnotes,  perfectly straight and neat under text. Notes in volumes stated 
to rear pastedown are in pencil.  Few pages have tiny marginal closed edge 
tears. Else text very clean and bright as are illustrations. Hinges tight, 
few volumes have the slightest rubbing, few volumes gilt to spine is 
moderately dulled. TEG. A very handsome set.  Ex-libris plates to pastedown, 
"From the Private Library of Verda and Claude M. Koons". sm 4 to., 362, 343,

beautiful color illustrated erotic plates by P. E. Be'cat, Two volumes 
loosely bound in color illustrated wraps with protective glassine covers to 
contents, volumes in red velvet textured boards in like slipcase. Spine of 
covers gilt title and decoration, rubbed front cover not attached, rear 
cracked joint 5 inches from heal, cracks to top edges. Slipcase firm with
