spine label. Some text soiling and preliminary leaves with an old water stain

First edition (note below: there are 2 Naples 1571 printings). On the history
of Naples and Genoa in the 16th century; the conspiracy of Gian Luigi Fieschi
in Genoa (one of the earliest sources for Schiller’s tragedy “Die
Verschwoerung des Fiesco zu Genua”); the disturbances in Naples under Pedro de Toledo;
and the assassination of Pietro Luigi Farnese, Duke of Parma in 1547. Adams
